Hi! I am the DHR Wellness Team’s Nicotine Cessation Coordinator.  I am a previous smoker and have been clean from nicotine for about three years now.  Before then I had a 2-year relapse, after quitting for over 10 years.  When I first quit, I was smoking almost 3 packs a day so I know a lot about addiction first hand.  I also have 8 years’ experience with helping people just like you quit nicotine products for life. I am trained as a peer mentor and quit coach by leading public health experts at Morgan State University. I now work with the City of Baltimore to run cessation classes, seminars, support groups, conduct one-on-one consultations, and provide cessation service referrals and resources for all employees. I am certified with the American Cancer Society, and the MD QuitLine.  My approach is non-judgmental and practical. I am not the cigarette police and I will never make anyone feel bad about using nicotine. As a previous smoker I understand how hard it can be to quit. Consider me one of your top cheer-leaders.  I am only here to support you until you reach your goal of being nicotine free.  Feel free to call or email me Monday through Friday from 9AM to 5PM with any questions or concerns.  I can be reached at bnicotinefree@baltimorecity.gov or 410-396-9895.
